What to expect

Strength, stretch, balance, and space to breathe This 75-minute Yin–Yang yoga class is designed for people who want to feel fitter, stronger, and more comfortable in their bodies, while also enjoying the calming, grounding benefits of yoga. Open to all people of all ages and experience levels, this class supports a wide range of bodies and abilities. Whether you are new to yoga, returning after a break, or have an established practice, you’ll find space to work at your own level while still feeling gently challenged and supported. At its heart, this is a full-body practice that blends strength, mobility, and deep release. The class often follows a Yin–Yang structure: more active, warming movement at the start, gradually transitioning into slower, longer-held stretches and rest. While the balance doesn’t always fall exactly into halves, the intention remains the same — to bring harmony between effort and ease. At the end of the session you will feel: Worked, but not exhausted Looser and more open in the body Clearer and calmer in the mind More connected to yourself Building strength, fitness, and resilience All of this is delivered with Emma’s quirky sense of humour, keeping the atmosphere light, friendly, and encouraging. Expect to work, to learn, and to enjoy the journey along the way. A welcoming, real-life practice This class is refreshingly down-to-earth. There is no chanting beyond a simple closing moment, no pressure to perform, and no expectation that yoga should look a certain way. The atmosphere is inclusive, supportive, and non-competitive. People come as they are — tired, curious, stiff, energetic — and practise together with respect and ease. The class is also teenage-friendly, and over recent years several parents have attended alongside their teenagers. This has become a lovely aspect of the group, offering a shared space to move, strengthen, and unwind together. The first part of the class tends to be more yang in quality, focusing on: Strength and muscle tone Core stability Mobility and coordination. In the second part the pace naturally softens allowing time for: Deep stretching of muscles and connective tissue Release of habitual tension Improved joint range Nervous system settling. Rather than forcing flexibility, we allow the body to open gradually, often using props to support comfort and ease. Options and variations are always offered, allowing you to adapt the class to suit your body on the day. No goals , no comparisons.
