7.30–8.30pm | All Saints Church Hall, Berkhamsted If you run, lift, cycle, swim, play sport, train hard — or simply suspect your hamstrings are plotting against you — this class is for you. Tune Up Tuesday is a practical yoga and mobility class in Berkhamsted designed to help active bodies recover well, move better and stay strong without gradually seizing up by the age of 53. Suitable for men and women of all levels, this is not a floaty incense-and-enlightenment sort of evening. It is intelligent, anatomy-led movement for people who use their body regularly and would quite like to keep enjoying it. Yoga forms the backbone of the class, but it is blended with: mobility training Pilates-inspired strength work fascial release joint stability targeted stretch breath-led recovery The result is a class that helps improve flexibility, support muscle recovery, reduce stiffness and build the kind of strength that makes everyday movement and sport feel easier. Each week we focus on a different area of the body — hips, shoulders, spine, feet, glutes, hamstrings, ankles — looking at where repetitive training patterns create tightness, weakness or compensation. In simple terms: we work out what is grumbling, what is underperforming and what has quietly stopped cooperating. You will learn how to: release overworked tissue strengthen neglected muscles improve joint mobility move with better control recover more effectively between workouts There is a strong thread of anatomical understanding woven throughout, but nothing too worthy. You will know why you are doing what you are doing, which is always more satisfying than being told to simply “breathe into your left kidney.” No yoga experience is needed, and no particular flexibility is required. In fact, the tighter you are, the more useful this tends to be.
