What to expect

Supportive movement for comfort, confidence, and calm Gentle Yoga for Ease and Renewal is a slower, supportive yoga class designed to help you move with greater ease, confidence, and kindness towards your body. This class is particularly suitable for older adults, people returning to movement after not practicing for a while or returning from illness, injury, or surgery, and anyone who prefers a calm, unhurried pace. It’s also well suited if you experience stiffness, reduced mobility, balance concerns, fatigue, or simply feel a bit wary of faster or more demanding exercise. You don’t need any previous yoga experience, and you don’t need to be flexible or fit. This class isn’t about pushing limits or achieving perfect shapes. Instead, it offers a welcoming space to move gently, notice what feels helpful, and gradually rebuild trust in your body. Classes unfold at a steady pace, giving each movement time to settle and “marinate.” Rather than rushing from one posture to the next, we take time to explore how movement feels, allowing the body to respond without strain. The movements are simple, supported, and practical. Alongside gentle stretching, we include light strength and stability work to support joints and posture, helping you feel steadier and more confident in daily life. Breath awareness is woven throughout the class in an easy, accessible way. There’s no need to control or change your breathing — simply noticing it can help calm the nervous system and reduce tension. Gentle relaxation and rest are also an important part of each session, giving your body time to absorb the benefits of movement. You can expect a blend of: Gentle stretching for hips, shoulders, spine, and legs Light strength and balance work to support stability Simple breathing practices to encourage calm Moments of stillness and guided relaxation Everything is offered with options. You’re always welcome to pause, adapt a movement, or sit something out. Listening to your body is not only encouraged — it’s part of the practice. The atmosphere is warm, inclusive, and non-judgemental. There’s no pressure to keep up, no competition, and no expectation that everyone moves the same way. A sense of ease and quiet humour is always welcome You will leave the class feeling calmer and restored. Please note: this class is held on an upper floor, and access requires climbing a flight of stairs
