Fascial Release For Tight Shoulders
SAT 24th JAN. 3-5.30pm
What to expect
If your shoulders feel tight, heavy, or permanently tense — whether from hours at a desk, scrolling on a phone, stress, exercise, or just the weight of everyday life — this workshop is for you. It’s a calm, practical session designed to help you release the deep, layered tension that gathers through the shoulders, neck, chest, and upper back, leaving you feeling open, lighter, and easier in your own skin. Fascial release is a simple but powerful way of working with the body’s connective tissue — the fascia — a vast network that wraps around every muscle, bone, and organ. When this web becomes tight or dehydrated, it limits movement, traps tension, and leaves us feeling stiff or uncomfortable. By using small, firm balls and other props, we gently soften these tissues, allowing them to re-hydrate and glide again. In this session, we’ll work specifically into the shoulder girdle — the complex structure of muscles and fascia that includes the chest, upper back, and arms. These are the areas that bear so much of modern life’s load: hunching over laptops, driving, carrying bags, or simply holding ourselves against the pull of gravity and the weight of our own responsibilities. Through slow, mindful techniques, you’ll learn how to release the trapezius, rhomboids, rotator cuff, and pectoral muscles — the key players that influence shoulder mobility and neck comfort. Using release balls, gentle pressure, and supported movement, we’ll help to soften stiffness, encourage circulation, and restore space around the joints. You’ll discover how the shoulder region connects through fascial lines that run into the chest, spine, and even the hands. Working on these wider connections helps balance the whole upper body, easing tension patterns that may have been held for months or even years. A special focus will be given to the neck and jaw, where so many of us unconsciously store tension. You’ll learn simple, safe techniques for easing tightness here — movements that can help with headaches, improve posture, and even soften facial expression. Many people notice a surprising sense of emotional release too, as if they’ve literally set down a burden they didn’t realise they were carrying. This workshop is open to everyone — all ages, all levels of fitness or experience. The approach is gentle, mindful, and entirely led by your own comfort. Fill out the health form and come as you are.
